RVS for Rent: Good For Family Vacations?
RVs are ideal for a family get away. This is a great way to get the whole family together and keep them together for the whole vacation or trip. If you have a lot of little ones, there will be plenty of room in the back for them to move around and stay comfortable. Another huge advantage if you are taking a really long trip is that there is a bathroom on board, so there will be no more stopping every thirty minutes for bathroom breaks. This can shave a lot of time off of your total drive and get you to the destination of your choosing even quicker.
Many families rent RVs every year for their big vacation and find that it is a great way for them to get away with less planning, less hassle and less stress. If you do decide to rent an RV you will not have to worry about a breakdown on the old family car or worry about getting it serviced and ready for the trip. Recreational vehicles that are rented receive maintenance on a regular schedule so you never have to worry about these types of inconveniences. This is a big weight off of the shoulders for many parents and can really help them enjoy their trip worry free.
Having one place to put all your luggage can also be a huge benefit to taking an RV on vacation. How many times have you had to turn around because somebody left something under the bed in a hotel room? Well, this does happen from time to time, but if you are all staying in the RV you will never have to worry about leaving something behind or a curious house cleaner looking through your stuff on a trip.
What To Look For In RVs For Rent
If you are going to rent an RV for your vacation and don’t know where to start when it comes to finding the right vehicle, don’t worry. There are a few main things to keep in mind when trying to find the right RVs for rent. The first thing you need to consider is how many people it will seat and sleep. If you have a large group, you need to make sure that there will be plenty of room for everybody. This is not something that you want to find out about later after you have paid for the rental and tried to cram everybody in: if there is not enough room. This is one way to start a very bad trip!
You may talk to the sale representatives at the rental location and see what they suggest, they have seen a lot of families come and go and can usually tell you some useful pointers when making a choice. If you know of anybody who will be traveling with you that may have special needs, you need to bring this up to the sales personnel too. They can make sure that there are all the needed lifts, ramps or other special equipment you may need to make the trip enjoyable for everybody involved.
Where To Rent RVs
If you have a local car rental chain, you may want to ask them about larger vehicles before your trip. If you ask early, some of the big name rental chains can order RVs from other locations and have them ready for you to pick up on your departure date. Another place that you can almost always find RVs for rent is at your local RV dealer. RV dealerships usually take in all sorts of trades when selling RVs. Some of these will get resold, some may be put up for auction, and most of the time, and some dealers will keep a couple late models around to rent. So if you don’t have a car rental outlet near you this is the next best place to check.
Another good source for finding specialty rentals like these are in the auto trader magazines. These can be found at the entrance of your local grocery store or at restaurant waiting areas usually. These are free publications and most of them list local and some businesses a little further away. So you may be able to find information about locations that are not listed in your local yellow pages in these free magazines.
You can also look online. Using searches can be very helpful to find locations you can rent RVs that are local or are on the way towards your main destination. Sometimes you may have to meet up where you are going to pick up the RV and then pickup your car when you drop the RV back off.
